Come and Try Scouts!

Do you want to come along and try the fun and adventure that is Scouting?

We can't wait to see you!

It is a good idea to get a parent to call the Group Leader Paul Highett on 08 8265 1659 to make sure we will be at the hall, sometimes we will be out and about having adventures and may not be 'at home'.

If you don't know anyone in the Group already, don't worry.  Get a parent to introduce you to one of the Leaders, and then get ready to have fun! Your parents are welcome to stay and see what we get up to.

When you first join, some things may seem a bit new and different. The meeting starts and finishes with a ceremony, when all the Leaders and Youth Members stand in a circle and we raise (or lower) the flag and all salute. Each section has their own ceremonies, no-one will expect you to know what to do for the first few weeks but we will help you and you will soon know how to join in and be part of the Group.

After a few weeks, hopefully you'll decide that you're ready to join College Park Scout Group . (be invested).

When you get invested, you'll officially become a member of the World Scouting Association, through Scouts Australia, Scouts SA, your local District and the Scout Group.

You may have a Scout Uniform but you won't be able to wear your neckie till you are invested. You will also be given the badges to sew on your uniform, all except the
Challenge badges or achievement Badges that you will have to earn such as the Joey Scout Promise Badge or the Boomerang Badges for Cub Scouts.

The Group Leader, Paul Highett ,will explain all this to you and your parents as you go, we want you to feel welcome and part of our Scout Group!

And best of all you get to come and visit for three weeks for free, just to see if you really want to join, We think you will!

We look forward to seeing you soon!!
